PRESIDENTS REPORT

As usual things slow down a little during the winter months, but it seems like more and more of our members are making Rushford their year around residence. What better place to go on a cold winter night then the club. Fortunately it looks like spring is finally here, the lake is full and everyone who hasn't decided to live here year around (yet), are starting to show up, happy to be back. Thanks to everyone! again and we’ll see you soon.

FINANCE COMMITTEE

Because of the age and very poor condition of the roof, the board voted to except bids on replacing the roof before winter. although it was a very large expense it was one that could not be ignored. The low bid came in at $9000, which included a complete tear-off of 3 previous layers of roof, repair of any damaged wood and install a layer of ice shield along the roof edges. After that expense the compressor on our large walk-in beer cooler quit and could not be repaired anymore. This was replaced with a new compressor for $1100. Even after all this, all of our suppliers are paid, the school and property taxes for ‘09 are paid, the lights are still on, and we still have money left in the bank! All because of your support as members.

MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE

To help remind members about their July ‘09 dues, we again are including a dues slip in our spring newsletter. And because the “early bird” member’s only gun raffle had such a good response we though we would make it an annual event . Check out last page for details.
As of Feb.1, 2009, we have 419 paid members, 53 who have not yet paid their July 08 dues, and 102 new members that joined in ‘08. Your $20- 09-10 dues are due July 1st, after July 31st, $20 plus a $5 late fee. At that time any member still in arrears for July ‘08 dues shall forfeit privileges until paid. Your dues can be paid at the bar or can be sent to the address above – attention Jackie Hull.

During January we completed another wall of the bar with knotty pine and replaced the base board heat covers. Thanks to our volunteer winter remodeling crew of John, Elaine, Jim, Regis and Jackie.
PLANNING A PARTY OR RECEPTION? -- Worried about Mother Nature or not having enough room? Don’t forget, as a member, you can rent the hall or pavilion at very reasonable rates. If you would like information on renting either of these, please contact Jackie Hull @ 585-437-2581.Dates have already started filling up, so it’s a good idea to reserve dates early.

Late last year we removed the dead trees along the front of the pond, which definately improved the view from the road. Due to vandalism, We had to replace our sign at the road over the winter. Thanks to a member who witnessed it, local and state police that solved it, we were able to recover the cost of repairs.
RANGE COMMITTEE

Our 3D archary range was a huge success last year and will reopen after spring turkey season. $4 for members $8 for guests, kids 16 and younger are free. A season pass is now available for members only. Watch for events on both the gun and 3D ranges this summer.
